The present study aims at investigating the relationship between personality characteristics and marital satisfaction. The statistical population were married individuals in the first and fourth regions in Tabriz, among whom 160 (80 males & 80 females) were selected through cluster sampling. Data were collected through "Marriage Satisfaction Questionnaire (47 statements) and "Personality of NEO-FFI" (60 statements). The correlation coefficient of Pierson was computed and then regression analysis was performed. The results indicated that there is a significant relationship between personality characteristics and marital satisfaction. Among the different aspects of personality, "Neuroticism" and "Openness" contributed to the prediction of marital satisfaction, respectively.

The Big Five Inventory (BFI) is one of the most widely used personality questionnaires, but very few studies have been conducted on its psychometric properties in Iranian population. This study was carried out with the aim of studying the psychometric properties of the BFI questionnaire. For this purpose, 390 university students in Tehran (210 girls and 180 boys) with an age range of 18 to 56 years (M = 27.52; SD = 8.79) were selected using the convenience sampling method and completed BFI and NEO-FFI questionnaires. Cronbach's alpha, multitrait-multimethod matrix, and confirmatory factor analysis were used to estimate the psychometric properties of the questionnaire. The result of the confirmatory factor analysis showed that 15 of the 44 items did not have a strong factor loading (higher than 0.40) on the corresponding factors and were therefore removed from the questionnaire. The fit indices showed that the Persian version of 29 questions (BFI-29) with 5 factors has a good fit with the data. The reliability analysis also showed that the range of Cronbach's alpha coefficients of the factors is from 0.70 to 0.79. The lowest Cronbach's alpha coefficient was related to agreeableness factor and the highest was related to conscientiousness. The findings from the multitrait-multimethod matrix showed that the BFI-29 questionnaire has good convergent and divergent validity with the NEO-FFI questionnaire. In general, based on the results of the present study, it can be said that the BFI-29 questionnaire has desirable psychometric properties and whenever a short tool for personality measurement is needed, this questionnaire can be used.

Many tools are developed in western countries for measurement of five-factor model which NEO-FFI is one of the most applicable tools. This test has acceptable popularity among Iranian researchers and it is used in many studies. For factor analysis, 1605 Iranian students were analyzed. Confirmatory heuristic factor analysis was used for data analysis. According to scree diagram, 5 factors were identified. Meanwhile, these 5 extracted factors are different from 5 main personality factors. Only two factors (conscientiousness and psycho-affliction) in this analysis were regenerated at some extent. In addition, these 5 factors explain relatively low percent of test score distribution (32.32%). Heuristic factor analysis showed that model fitting indicators are so weak. Generally, these results indicate non-transparent and impure factor structure of this test in applied sample and its functionality in Iran could be under question.

Objectives: In view of the existing methodological drawbacks in the previous investigations of NEO-Personality Inventory-Revised, the present study aimed at reinvestigating the construct validity of this inventory in Iran.Method: 334 students 231 female and 98 male, 5 not specified) with a mean age of 23.1 were selected via convenience sampling from Tehran, Elm-o-Farhang and Shahid Beheshti Universities, and completed NEO-Personality Inventory-Revised. Inclined rotation and parallel analysis was used for exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis.Results: Exploratory factor analysis resulted in the extraction of five factors, which altogether accounted for 59.25 percent of the total variance of the data. As a result of exploratory factor analysis, a noticeable number of cross-loads and wrongly loaded subscales were observed. Confirmatory factor analysis also resulted in weak to moderate fit indexes.Conclusion: Considering the results of the present study and with regard to the medium and weak alpha coefficients in the Garousi Farshi study, the primary applicability of this questionnaire in the Iranian culture is questionable. It seems that factor analysis at the level of characteristics could be helpful.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between mother's parenting style (permissive, authoritarian and authoritative), personality traits (NEO Five Factors Model) and creativity in school students. 156 students were selected from all Shahrood's schools and by multistage racemose hoppenstonce sampling. The instruments were, McCray and Costa NEO Personality Inventory Revised and the Abedi Creativity Test. The finding shows that there were positive relationships between creativivity and openness and conscientiousness and negative relationship between neuroticism and creativivity. A significant differencs were observed between boys and girl in tow dimensions neuroticism and extraversion. Neuroticism score for girls were higher as compared to that of boys and extraversion score for boys was higher than girls. No significant differenc was observed in the girls and boys creativity total score. However elaboration score for girls were higher as compared to that of boys and flexibility score for boys was higher than girls.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between attribution styles and NEO five personality factors with marital satisfaction among female nurses in Ilam City. In this research 135 married female nurses were considered as samples. The tools used in this study were such as: Attribution Style Questionnaire (ASQ), NEO personality questionnaire, Marital Satisfaction Questionnaire (ENRICH). Multi-variable regression and Pearson coefficient at P<%5 level used to analyze data.Results showed that, there were no significant correlation among positive and negative attribution style and its dimensions, openness in experience and conscientiousness with marital satisfaction. There were significant relations among neuroticism, extroversion and agreeableness with marital satisfaction.Among positive and negative attribution style variable, personality variables that identified as predictable variables, agreeableness and extroversion were the best predictable variables for marital satisfaction.

Introduction: Present study was conducted in order to evaluate the relationship between NEO-PI-R personality test with the questionnaire SCL-90-R, aiming at evaluation of this test efficiency in investigating the indices related to mental health that are considered as the primary symptoms of common psychiatric disorders. Method: 500 students of Tabriz & Shiraz Universities were selected through simple random sampling procedure in 2008-9. NEO-PI-R & SCL-90-R tests were carried out on participants. For analysis of data the regression analysis, Pearson Correlation Coefficient and independent T-test were used.Results: The neuroticism (N) factor with the highest power, predicted all indices related to SCL-90-R. Totally, the main personality factor had the highest and the best predictions for somatization, obsession & phobia indices, respectively.Conclusion: The scales and main factors of NEO questionnaire can be used as indices for evaluation of mental health, and even for investigating the explicit symptoms of axis I psychiatric disorders.

Background and Objective: In addition to benefits of the Internet, it's no doubt; that can created new problems or aggravating old problems. the aim of this research is to predicted Internet addiction that based on five big personality factors (NEO) which was among the students.Methods: This study design correlational - descriptive. The study populations consisted of all paramedical students of Sanandaj in 2015, among a sample of 184 students were selected as sample available NEO personality traits and completed the Young's Internet Addiction questionnaire. For analyze the data use the Software Spss16 and regression analysis statistical test was performed.Results: Results showed that personality traits of neuroticism and introversion with Internet addiction has a significant positive relationship (P<0.01), (R=0.035). Since the Introverts in comparison with extroverts had little interest to social relations and prefer loneliness, therefore they have more potential to internet addiction.
